Most Japanese companies relies heavily on paperflows and the epicenter in most organizations are the Finance department (Accounting, Bookekeeping, Administrative department)
While there are some good Japanese cloud based accounting systems available, such as Freee and Money Forward, they typically rely on their own ecosystem meaning that integration with 3rd party apps are limited. they do however have API integration with the banks and local card companies. They also often lack multi lingual support making them difficult to use for foreigners.
Global software can typically handle Japanese characters and be configured to handle Japanese tax, GST etc. and Bank and card statements can be reconciled using CSV files with ease so its always a trade off that will rely on what other cloud solutions you need to integrate with.
